Ph.D., Zhejiang University is a special professor and doctoral tutor. In 1996, 1999 and 2002, he obtained bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from Lanzhou University, Macau University and Zhejiang University respectively. His main research areas are artificial intelligence, cross-media computing, multimedia analysis and retrieval, and statistical learning. Associate Dean of School of Computer Science, Zhejiang University, Director of Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Zhejiang University, Deputy Director of Visual Perception Education Department - Microsoft Key Laboratory (Zhejiang University). The winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund (2016) and the winner of the New Century Excellent Talents Support Program of the Ministry of Education (2011). At present, he is the host of one of the key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China-Zhejiang Lianghua Integration Fund and one of the 973 projects. Funded by Zhejiang University's New Star Program, from October 2009 to August 2010, he was a visiting scholar at the US Academy of Sciences and the former head of the Department of Statistics at the University of California, Berkeley. Currently, he is the Associate Editor of the SCI Journal Multimedia System and the Member of the Editorial Board of the SCI Journal Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering.
